Family vacation in the midwest?

We are looking for a family vacation spot in the midwest. It's my mother, my sister (13), and myself (21). We do a lot of camping already so instead we are looking for something a bit more upbeat. I'm leaning toward Chicago but I'm not sure my 13 year old sister would find it fun (then again...what do 13 year olds find fun...practically nothing). Any ideas?
