Going into middle school... As an 8th grader?

I know, I know, there are a lot of questions here asking things like "LYK OMGZ!!!1!!! IZ GOIN INTO MIDDLE SKOOL!! NEED TIPZ NAO!! lol btw Im in 6th grde :DDD" but, just one little problem, I'm going into middle school as an 8th grader. I used to be home schooled (and yes, I do have friends) so for my last year of middle school, I'll be going to my local public school. Any tips? Thanks :)
